The Works of Odets & Sketch Reads

Saturday’s meeting found our ActBroward members reading sketches written by Marcus Wolf and Ed Casas. Lots of laughs were had as the group discussed a future live theater production of Live: Saturday Nite! sketch anthology.

The importance of Clifford Odets was discussed and Odets role in The Group Theatre. The Group Theatre was where Stanislavski devotees like Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, and Sandy Meisner first began to shape their philosophies on the teaching of acting.

Next week the group will look deeper into scenes & monologues from Odets’ work, plus castings for our sketches.
